Khaoula Bengezi is a PhD candidate at the Department of Politics. Currently, Khaoula is researching global responses to climate change in the Sahara Desert through renewable energy transitions vis-à-vis clean energy technologies. Khaoula uses multi-scalar case study to examine how renewable energy imaginaries are constructed and implemented by international and Moroccan national actors. She juxtaposes these imaginaries by providing insight on how longstanding subsistence farming practices have been affected by the construction of global large-scale climate mitigation technologies.
